From the Austrian capital to the Czech one by private car: north through the Weinviertel, across the border by Mikulov and up the D1 past Brno — about 3h 50m of driving from your Vienna hotel or Vienna Airport to your address in Prague.
Vienna to Prague takes about 3h 50m of driving before any stops or border time. Private transfer priced on request per vehicle, door-to-door — tell us where to collect you in Vienna, where you are staying in Prague, and whether you would like to stop in Mikulov or Brno on the way.
Pickup at your hotel, apartment or address in Vienna, at Wien Hauptbahnhof, or at Vienna Airport (VIE). The route leaves the city northwards and joins the A5 Nord, the Weinviertel motorway.
Past Drasenhofen the road crosses into the Czech Republic just before Mikulov. The crossing is Schengen-internal; police checks or temporary border controls may occur, so keep a passport or national ID card at hand.
The first Czech town after the border. Because it sits right on the road, a stop here costs almost no extra driving — only the time you spend in town.
Road 52 runs north via Pohořelice to Brno, the Czech Republic’s second city, where the D1 motorway begins. A stop in the centre breaks the drive roughly halfway, before the D1 towards Jihlava and Prague.
The D1 runs north-west by Jihlava and brings you into Prague from the south-east: drop-off at your hotel or address, at Praha hlavní nádraží, or at Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) if you fly on.
Per vehicle, not per person. Every quote includes tolls, fuel, the cross-border route, assistance with loading and unloading luggage, and child seats available on request.
