Across the Alps from Bavaria to the Slovenian capital in one private drive. Down the A8 to Salzburg, south through the Tauern motorway to Villach and through the Karawanken tunnel into Slovenia — about 4h 30m of driving from your Munich hotel or Munich Airport, with Lake Bled close to the route.
Munich to Ljubljana is about 4h 30m of driving before stops or border time. Private transfer priced on request per vehicle, door-to-door — tell us where to collect you in Munich or at the airport, where you are staying in Ljubljana, and whether you would like to stop in Salzburg, Villach or at Lake Bled on the way.
Pickup at your hotel, apartment or address in Munich, at München Hauptbahnhof, or at Munich Airport (MUC). From the city the road leaves by Rosenheimer Straße for the A8 past Rosenheim and the Chiemsee.
The A8 meets the Austrian A1 at Walserberg, on the edge of Salzburg. The crossing is Schengen-internal; police checks or temporary border controls may occur, so keep a passport or national ID card at hand.
The motorway passes the edge of Salzburg just after the border. A break in the old town adds about 20 minutes of driving, plus the time you spend there.
The A10 Tauern motorway crosses the mountains south of Salzburg and comes down to Villach in Carinthia, where the A11 begins. The town centre is a short detour and the last break on the Austrian side.
The A11 enters the Karawanken tunnel in Austria and comes out in Slovenia, where the A2 continues past Jesenice. A second Schengen-internal crossing: police checks or temporary border controls may occur here too, so allow some flexibility in journey time.
Past Jesenice the A2 runs close to two classic stops: Radovljica, about 8 minutes of extra driving, and Bled on its lake, about 12. Add the time you want for a walk by the water.
The A2 past Kranj brings you into Ljubljana from the north-west: drop-off at your hotel, apartment or address in the city.
