Croatia's greatest natural wonder — 16 terraced turquoise lakes spilling into one another over waterfalls, laced with boardwalks and forest. A long but unforgettable day, driver waiting.
A private round-trip from Split with your driver waiting — from €320 per vehicle, door-to-door. Fuel, tolls and an English-speaking driver included; park entry is paid on the day.
It's about 2.5–3 hours inland from Split to Plitvice Lakes National Park — Croatia's oldest and most famous park, UNESCO-listed since 1979. Sixteen terraced lakes in impossible shades of turquoise and green step down through a forested canyon, linked by dozens of waterfalls and a network of wooden boardwalks right at the water's edge.
A typical visit follows one of the marked routes, using the park's electric boat across the largest lake and a shuttle between the upper and lower sections, so you see both the big falls and the quieter upper lakes. Because it's a long drive, an early start makes all the difference — you walk the boardwalks before the coaches arrive.
Because it's private, the driver waits all day and you set the pace and the return. It's a full, long day out, but Plitvice earns it.
