From the Dalmatian coast to the Danube in one day, by private car. Up the A1 through Dalmatia and Lika, around Zagreb, across into Hungary at Goričan/Letenye and along the M7 by Lake Balaton — from your Split hotel or Split Airport to your address in Budapest.
Split to Budapest is a full day on the road: about 8 hours of driving before any stops. Private transfer priced on request per vehicle, door-to-door — tell us where to collect you in Split or at the airport, where you are staying in Budapest, and where you would like to break the drive.
Pickup at your hotel, apartment or address in Split, or at Split Airport (SPU). From the city the road climbs inland to the A1 motorway heading north.
The waterfalls of Krka lie off the A1 early in the drive. The detour adds roughly half an hour of driving to the park area; add the time you want for a walk along the falls.
After the long run through Lika, Karlovac sits right beside the A1 just before the Zagreb junction — a convenient halfway break with little time lost.
The motorway bypasses Zagreb, so lunch in the Croatian capital means a short drive into the centre and back out. Worth it if you have never seen the Upper Town.
The A4 meets the Hungarian M7 at a Schengen-internal crossing. Police checks may occur, so every passenger keeps a passport or national ID card to hand; allow some flexibility in journey time.
In Hungary the M7 runs along the south shore of Lake Balaton, and Siófok lies right next to it — a last stretch of the legs by the water before Budapest.
Via Székesfehérvár into Budapest: drop-off at your hotel or address in Buda or Pest, or at Budapest Airport (BUD) if you fly on.
Per vehicle, not per person. Every quote includes tolls, fuel, the cross-border route, assistance with loading and unloading luggage, and child seats available on request.

Cross-border route handled. Passengers remain responsible for their own passports, visas and other travel documents.

If you land at Split Airport (SPU) and want to go straight on, we pick you up at the terminal: the airport sits west of the city and is about 722 km and 7h 45m from Budapest by road, so there is no need to go into Split first. Mention the airport pickup and your flight number in your request. Airport pickups include 60 minutes of free waiting.
Heading back to the coast? Budapest to Split drives the same motorways south to Dalmatia.
Budapest → Split →By road, Split to Budapest is about 750 km. A short climb out of Split joins the A1, which runs north through Dalmatia and the highlands of Lika past Karlovac; the A3 then skirts Zagreb and the A4 carries on past Varaždin to the Hungarian border at Goričan/Letenye. On the Hungarian side the M7 passes Nagykanizsa, follows the south shore of Lake Balaton past Siófok and reaches Budapest via Székesfehérvár. Allow about eight hours of driving without breaks, and more for any stops you add.
There is no year-round direct train between Split and Budapest: rail journeys change in Zagreb, and with the timetables involved that often means a night there. FlixBus sells coach tickets on the route; check the current timetable before travelling. A private transfer does the trip in a single day, from your door in Split or the airport to your address in Budapest, with your luggage in the car and breaks where you choose them.
The only border on this route is between Croatia and Hungary, at Goričan/Letenye. Both countries are in the Schengen area, so it is an internal crossing, but police checks or temporary border controls may occur. Every passenger should carry a valid passport or national ID card, and it is wise to allow some flexibility in journey time.
We collect you from hotels, apartments and addresses in Split, or from Split Airport (SPU). Address pickups include 15 minutes of free waiting. In Budapest we drop off anywhere in Buda or Pest, or at Budapest Airport (BUD) if you have a flight to catch; give us the flight time so we can plan the departure from Split around it.

Yes. The M7 runs along the south shore of Lake Balaton, and a stop at Siófok adds only about 4 minutes of driving. Karlovac adds about 11 minutes and central Zagreb about 24 minutes. Mention the stops in your request and how long you want at each.
Plitvice is not on the motorway route. Going via the park adds about 65 minutes of driving before any time spent at the lakes, so it only works as a deliberate full-day combination. Ask for it in your request and we plan the day around it.
This route is priced on request. We quote per vehicle, not per passenger, for your date, group and any stops, and you receive the quote in writing before anything is confirmed.
Request this transfer with your date, pickup point, group size and the stops you would like. We reply during our working hours with a written quote per vehicle.
