Your own driver from Trieste down the Slovenian coast through Koper, Izola and Portorož to Piran, and back to Trieste the same day.
Four towns on a short stretch of coast. The driver takes you through Koper, Izola and Portorož to Piran, waits at each stop, and brings you back to Trieste.
The route. Over the border to Koper, then along the coast road to Izola, Portorož and Piran. Piran on its own is about 45 minutes from Trieste. The loop with all four towns is about 75 km and roughly 1h 50m of driving.
The places. Koper is a city in south-west Slovenia, Izola a historical harbour town and Portorož a seaside town. In Piran, Tartini Square, the former inner harbour, is named after the composer Giuseppe Tartini, born in the town in 1692.
The pace. The legs between the towns are short, so nearly the whole day is time on foot by the sea. Fewer stops simply mean more time in each.
