About the Destination

Why Mostar?

The Old Bridge & Old Town

Mostar's iconic Stari Most, rebuilt in 2004 after its destruction in 1993, is the city's beating heart. The cobblestone streets of the Ottoman old town are filled with coppersmiths, carpet shops, and tiny cafes serving Bosnian coffee. Every summer, divers leap 24 meters from the bridge into the emerald Neretva below.

Day trips from Mostar

Mostar is the perfect base for exploring Herzegovina. Kravica Waterfalls (40 minutes), the medieval fortress of Pocitelj (30 minutes), and the Dervish monastery at Blagaj (15 minutes) are all within easy reach. Many of our drivers offer these as optional stops on your transfer in.

Getting around

The old town is entirely walkable. Most hotels and Airbnbs are within 10 minutes of the bridge on foot. Mostar has a small airport (OMO) with seasonal flights, but most visitors arrive by private transfer from Dubrovnik, Split, or Sarajevo—which is where we come in.

Mostar FAQ

Questions about Mostar transfers

Everything you need to know about getting to and from Mostar by private transfer.

What's the most popular route to Mostar?

+

Dubrovnik to Mostar is by far our most booked route. Most visitors fly into Dubrovnik Airport and combine their transfer with stops at Pocitelj fortress and Kravica Waterfalls along the way. The drive takes about 2.5 hours without stops.

Do I need to cross a border to reach Mostar?

+

If coming from Dubrovnik, Split, Kotor, or their airports, yes—you'll cross into Bosnia & Herzegovina. Your driver handles everything at the border. EU/UK/US/Canadian citizens don't need a visa. Border waits are typically 5-15 minutes, longer in peak summer.

Can I stop at Kravica Waterfalls on the way?

+

Absolutely, and we highly recommend it. Kravica is right along the Dubrovnik-Mostar route. A 30-45 minute stop costs €25 extra. Your driver waits while you explore. The falls are most impressive from May to September.

Which airport is closest to Mostar?

+

Mostar has its own airport (OMO) with seasonal flights, mainly from Italy and Turkey. For year-round connections, Dubrovnik Airport (2.5h), Sarajevo Airport (2.5h), and Split Airport (2.75h) all have frequent international flights and we provide transfers from all three.

Is Mostar worth visiting for more than a day trip?

+

We'd say at least two nights. The Old Bridge area is magical in the evening after day-trippers leave. Add in Blagaj monastery, Pocitelj, a Burek Masterclass cooking experience, and the vibrant local restaurant scene, and you'll wish you'd booked more time.

What's the best time to visit Mostar?

+

April to October is ideal. Summers are hot (35°C+) but the river keeps things pleasant. May-June and September-October offer warm weather with fewer crowds. The bridge diving season runs July-August. Winter is quiet but atmospheric, with mist over the Neretva.
